Revenge

23 Jul 2011 00:09:00

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 22; the twenty-second edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton.

A guy named Kiran lived in a village named Basragao in a small district in North of India. He was a very simple person lived in a small hut in the village. Even though he was educated he preferred to do agriculture in his forefather land. Somewhere deep in his mind he really felt doing agriculture and staying in his forefather land will fetch him inner peace and happiness.

He lives with his wife and ten year old son. His everyday work would be very simple as his dreams. He used to get up early in the morning by six. After his nature call, he does some yoga exercise and meditation. Followed by a prayer of thirty minutes, his working day would start at nine in the morning. Every morning the wife cooks food for the morning breakfast and the lunch or Kiran to carry. He goes to the paddy field to inspect his crops and paddy the same way and would do agriculture in his land. His day would end at five in the evening.

He used to come back from work with two of his fellow farmers whose land was also just near to him. They used to walk for forty five minutes every day back from their fields. All the three people land was near to each other. The other people named were Shakti and Anandsagar. Among these two Anandsagar was a bit short tempered and angry person. Every night he used to drink alone at his home without disturbing any one. On the other hand Shakti and Kiran never used to drink but always used to tell Anandsagar stop drinking.

On one fine day after a tiring day all the three were coming back. Like every day they used to pull each other’s leg and cracked jokes on each other. While joking about each other all of a sudden the joke became a serious talk and the serious talk increased to an angry talk between Anandsagar and Shakti. The angry talk moved to a very big fight between them. Kiran tried to persuade them and tried to calm them down, but nothing happened. They just abused each other to the extent that Kiran was worried where it will end. They reached the village but never said anything to each other, as the whole forty five minutes walk from field to home was full of anger.

From the next day they used to go separately. Even though Kiran used to speak to them but he went alone to the field to work. Kiran tried for one whole week to calm them down and bring them back to at least talking terms with each other. But everything went in vain.

After this angry incident no one spoke with each other. Kiran never knew that the misunderstanding which cropped in between the other two would affect him in some way in future.

It was really difficult for all three of them to deal with such a situation. One day at two o clock in night Anandsagar came to Kiran. He was totally drunk. He was in full of anger and annoyance towards Shakti. Kiran was terrified by his words and he was worried about their friendship. He tried to console Anandsagar but couldn’t control his anger. After thirty minutes he went back.

No one knew, what will be the outcome of this anger. What it will lead to. Whom will it affect?

That night Anandsagar went all the way straight to his home and took some kerosene and match boxes. He limped across the village in his drunkard state. He started towards the fields. He was so drunk he didn’t have any clue what he was doing. He reached the field and spread all the kerosene on the paddy which was standing and swaying at three feet high. He sparked the match and lit the standing paddy. He was so drunk and full of anger; he wanted to destroy everything of Shakti. He wanted to take REVENGE on Shakti. After burning the paddy he was laughing to the fullest and ran towards his home. He was so happy that he destroyed the land of his enemy and his future.

Kiran reached the field before every one. Kiran couldn't believe his eyes when he reached the fields. He started to cry, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He was seeing the paddy lying in black soot in the land. His land was destroyed. He was feeling sad about the scene which he never realized can ever happen. He was surprised and shocked to know that his field caught fire.

Many nearby fellow farmers gathered and tried to console. After half an hour Shakti came and he was also shocked by seeing a scene which was not believable. Anandsagar came in the afternoon to enjoy the sight of Shakti crying but he was shocked to death to see the field of Kiran covered with a blanket of black soot.

No one was able to find out the reason of fire. The only person who knew the reason of fire is Anandsagar . Last night when he lit the field , he mistakenly lit Kiran field instead of Shakti.

After a week Anandsagar sold his land for a very low rate and ran away from the village and settled in some other village. Shakti went to Kiran home once every three days. Kiran was so terrified by the incident he stopped to speak with anyone in the village. The incident how it happened still remained a mystery.

Due to the REVENGE attitude of Anandsagar he lost his friendship with Kiran and Shakti as he ran away from the village by selling his field. He destroyed the field of his friend Kiran.

Moral : REVENGE always leads to sad and unwanted moments.
